About Sue
Getting to know the person behind the care
About me
Hello! I’m Sue, a devoted wife, a proud mum of two wonderful children, and someone who cherishes the deep connections with family, friends, and our community.
For many fulfilling years, I partnered with my husband in running a successful business. However, my heart began to shift towards a more personal and intimate form of care. With a background in nursing and a lifelong commitment to helping others, I found my true calling in providing end-of-life care and support.
I have dedicated myself to comprehensive training through Preparing the Way, where I completed their Foundation Workshop, Intensive Course, and accredited Skill Set program. I am currently pursuing the world’s first and Australia’s only nationally accredited Certificate IV in End of Life Doula Services (10966NAT). Additionally, I am proud to be part of networks such as HELD, the EOLD Registry, NODA, and other professional networks that share this vital work.
My enriching experiences as a palliative care volunteer have profoundly
influenced my approach, highlighting the vital importance of presence, compassion, and the transformative power of simply being there to listen. Today, I am honoured to offer professional end-of-life doula services to individuals and families in Murrumbateman and the nearby areas. My mission is to ensure that no one feels alone during this poignant chapter of life.
Supporting individuals and families during the end of life truly feels like a calling for me — something I’ve always intuitively been drawn to. Throughout my nursing career, I realised that the clinical environment often falls short in providing the time to connect, listen, and be fully present for those in need. Through my personal experiences with loss and years of dedicated volunteer work, I’ve witnessed the profound impact a calm and steady presence can have, offering understanding and companionship to those facing the end of life, alongside their loved ones, without haste.
For me, end-of-life care transcends medical needs; it embodies human connection, dignity, and kindness. My role is to offer a gentle hand, a compassionate heart, and a nurturing space where individuals can be truly seen, heard, and honoured throughout their unique journey.

My approach
I firmly believe that end-of-life care is a delicate balance of presence and action. My approach is gentle, respectful, and entirely centred on each person’s individual needs and wishes.
I strive to create a safe and serene environment where individuals can share their fears, hopes, and desires without any judgment. Drawing from my nursing background, volunteer experience, and specialised end-of-life doula training, I blend practical knowledge with heartfelt compassion.
Sometimes, my role may be to quietly sit during a vigil, while at other times, I assist families in navigating challenging conversations, planning for the future, or simply holding space for grief.
No matter the situation, I am here, ready to journey alongside you every step of the way.
